4th Friday Shabbat Service

Friday, October 23, 2015 10 Cheshvan 5776

7:30 PM - 8:30 PMNorthaven United Methodist Church, 11211 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75230

Congregation Beth El Binah, in conjunction with congregations of all three major Jewish movements in America will have a Service of Solidarity with Israel this Shabbat.

In light of the continuing violence in Israel, the leaders of several Jewish denominations have declared a solidarity Sabbath across the United States. Leaders of the Orthodox, Conservative and Reform movements, in conjunction with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, announced the decision.

URJ President Rabbi Rick Jacobs said that his “heart breaks” seeing the “vicious” attacks against Jews in Israel, and that members of his movement will “pray for a peaceful Shabbat that leads to a safer and more secure State of Israel.”

A remarkable young man is our Guest Speaker for the Evening.  Josh/Matan Rudner is a 17 year Gay Zionist who is planning on making Aliyah after graduating high school.  He is an MZ Teen Intern with "StandWithUs" and attends Greenhill School, where he is the Co-President of the Jewish Student Union and Gay Straight Alliance.  He is deeply involved with AIPAC and BBYO.

After this service, Linda Evans will be collecting toiletries and similar items for “The Family Place."
